The drinkware was sold by several suppliers, including two Top 40 firms, this year.

City of Industry, CA-based supplier Accompany USA, in conjunction with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), has issued a product recall for promotional coffee mugs due to a burn risk.

The ceramic mugs with cork base can crack and break when hot liquids are poured into them, posing an injury hazard to users. They were available in black or white, and measure about four inches wide and four inches high with a slide lid.

About 25,000 of the mugs were sold in the promo products industry between February and August of this year. So far, Accompany USA has received one report of a mug breaking when it came in contact with a hot liquid. No injuries have yet been reported.

The mugs were also sold by Top 40 supplier Logomark (asi/67866), Top 40 supplier NC Custom (asi/44900), VisionUSA (asi/80060), Admart Products (asi/31517) and InfinityIWC. ASI Media has reached out to all suppliers for comment.

“Fortunately, we were very quickly able to identify every shipment and batch that was affected due to the protocols we have in place,” Logomark CEO Trevor Gnesin told ASI Media. “All distributors that were affected were notified immediately and the issue was resolved according to instructions from CPSC.”

VisionUSA told ASI Media they will be taking swift action to address the issue. “Quality and safety are very important to us,” says President Felix Soliz. “Out of an abundance of caution, we are notifying all distributors who previously purchased the mug (CMWAILEA14) and we will offer refunds for any defective product. All mugs in question were quarantined once we received a notice from our vendor.” Those who bought the drinkware from VisionUSA can call (214) 678-9105 x204 or email compliance@vision1usa.com for more information.

The official notice from the CPSC states: “Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ceramic mugs and contact Accompany USA to receive a full refund.”

Consumers can call Accompany USA at (909) 595-0178 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT Monday through Friday, or email rain@accompanyusa.com for refund information.
